Visit Shrewsbury’s Award Winning Market

One of our favourite things to do on a Saturday morning is to grab a tasty breakfast after a busy week in the hills, the Shrewsbury Market Hall is a regular attraction for us, it has been crowned Britain’s Favourite Market 2023 following a nationwide public vote. The Britain’s Favourite Market Award is the most coveted award up for grabs at the annual Great British Market Awards! So we are very proud of Shrewsbury and our lovely market place!

The market is home to some 60 independent traders. The market known locally as a unique food and drink and shopping destination, that offers a vibrant and eclectic fusion of the hand crafted and the hard to find goodies. The birds Nest café is a regular for us! Really relaxed vibe, great food, service and yummy cakes to eat in with amazing coffee or take back to the cabin for later!

There is a great choice for food, eat in a vibrant atmosphere or do some food shopping with good value and great quality fruit, veg, speciality food and butchers with locally sourced meats. The market also does late night evenings which are fun, knowledgeable wine retailers and small gin bars with unique atmosphere and decor, perfect for a late afternoon tipple or grab a bottle for back at the cabin!
